First Aid International

Fundraising

First Aid International markets a small first aid kit in shopping centres, retail outlets and exhibitions successfully for only $25. This kit is in a very cheap box, allowing us to allocate most of the cost to the contents. It is shipped in plastic shrink wrap so tampering is evident, and has a list of the contents visible on the outside of the package. To buy the contents of the box individually at a Chemist would cost over $40.

Your school or non-profit organisation can sell these kits as a fundraising drive for $25 each and make your organisation a healthy start to your fundraising goals, or hopefully exceed it. Three possible ways to run this would be as follows:

1)Each student is given one kit to take home and sell. This provides immediate cash flow with very little administration. You just have to record giving a kit to each student and then record receiving back either $25 or the kit. The beauty is that each student only has to sell one item, so the time to do that should be a matter of days. It also takes away the walking the neighbourhood and the harassment of friends and family.

2)Alternatively, each student could be given an order form with the first kit. That way, they could sell more than one kit each, as well as any of our other kits. This would be a little harder to administer, but not impossible. We would provide a family first aid kit worth $80 as a prize for the student with the most orders, and recommend you award a movie ticket or similar for selling 5 kits. This can be more rewarding in volume.

3)You could just give each student a flyer describing the kits and an order form. I suspect this would drastically cut sales, but would reduce any problems of losing kits. This option has a small amount of success.

The important question is what would you make.

Each kit would earn you $11.00 profit. After paying the GST, you keep $10.00 per kit. Even at one kit per student, this becomes a significant amount of money.

As an added bonus, I would hope the school would form a mutually beneficial partnership with First Aid International. If we can include a flyer promoting our other kits and business restocking services, we would be happy to donate 10% of any sales to a customer introduced by the parents for the life of the customer. For example, if one parent rings us and tells us to talk to his first aid officer at work and we win that business, 10% of all future sales to that customer will flow to your school. This has the potential to earn you a monthly cheque for ever with no ongoing effort.

A few further points.

We will be able to put your school sticker onto the kits as they are packed. We would encourage you to do this so that they are easier for your students to sell.

Any kits that are lost or not returned would have to be paid for. Hopefully this would not become an issue.

I would be available to help set up and coordinate the project and offer any help I could.

Please feel free to discuss anything in this fundraising programme with us me at any time. I am happy to tailor the whole package to whatever form works best for your school or non-profit organisation.
